Under such conditions, the least polluting and healthiest means of transport come under threat: public transport loses effectiveness and pedestrians and cyclists come up against difficulties deriving from the physical barriers that road infrastructures and lack of safety entail. This situation gives rise to serious conflicts in our town and cities.

Transport, on the other hand, represents one of the sectors that contribute most towards a worsening of the problem of climate change. According to data from the year 2007, transport consumes 37% of the total final energy consumption in Navarre, and is noteworthy for its high growth rate in recent years – 9%. It is the sector that contributes most towards the ecological footprint associated with energy consumption (44%), and is also responsible for 24% of total greenhouse effect gas emissions, with an increase of nearly 50% since 1990.

CRANA carries out activities and projects that promote the most efficient and environmentally-friendly means of travelling; walking, cycling and public transport, as well as the rational use of the private car - shared car and efficient driving.
